Make your minute useful
A one-minute typing test is short enough to fit between other tasks and long enough to move beyond your first few words. Use it to establish a practice baseline, warm up before a longer session, or check a movement you have been working on. You do not need to chase your fastest possible score on every attempt.
Before starting, choose whether to include numbers and punctuation. Keep those settings the same when comparing results. The timer begins with your first valid character and keeps running if you switch tabs, so give this minute your attention.
Read speed and accuracy together
Your result shows words per minute, accuracy, elapsed time, and a speed chart. WPM uses correct retained characters, including valid word-separating spaces, divided by five and then by elapsed minutes. Accuracy records how often your input was correct; deleting a mistake does not erase it from that record. See how WPM is calculated for worked examples.
After your first attempt, notice one source of hesitation. It might be a letter pair, a missed capital, or a rushed word ending. Practice that movement slowly in Custom mode before taking another one-minute test. Our accuracy guide explains how to turn a repeated mistake into a focused drill.
Choose your next step
If the minute feels hurried, try a relaxed round on the home page and focus on clean inputs. If it feels comfortable, use the three-minute test to practice holding that pace. A five-minute test gives you a longer window to observe consistency.
Look for a result you can repeat, rather than keeping only your best attempt. Your recent results stay in this browser, and the typing speed guide offers a simple routine for your next session.
