Typing practice runs locally

Monkey Typing performs typing tests and score calculations in your browser. Custom text is used for the current browser session and is not included in saved results. There is no account or cloud synchronization for your practice data. The website also uses the analytics services described below.

What your browser saves

When browser storage is available, the site saves your test settings and up to 50 recent test results in local storage. Results include information such as the test mode, duration, speed, accuracy, and date. This data belongs to the current browser and website address; it is not synchronized across devices.

You can clear saved results from the history page. To remove both settings and results, clear this website’s data through your browser settings. Private browsing, storage restrictions, or clearing site data may prevent results from being saved or remove them. The typing tool remains usable when storage is unavailable.

Website hosting

Cloudflare serves this website and its static files. Loading a page creates ordinary network requests. Cloudflare may process connection information such as your IP address, request time, browser information, and requested URL to provide, secure, and operate its services. This hosting activity is separate from the typing test, which runs locally.

More information about Cloudflare’s processing is available in the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Page performance analytics

The production domain loads a Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon through its hosting configuration. This measures page visits and browser performance to help understand how the website loads. The typing application does not send keystrokes, custom practice text, or saved test history to this service.

For details about the service, see Cloudflare Web Analytics and the Cloudflare privacy policy linked above.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity on www.monkeytyping.co to understand how visitors use the site and improve its usability. Clarity provides heatmaps and session recordings from page content and interactions such as clicks, scrolling, pointer movements, and input activity. It also processes information about visited pages, browsers, devices, and page performance.

We configure the typing area, results, custom-text editor, and history content for Clarity masking. This hides their text content from recordings while allowing interaction and layout information to be collected. We do not send custom analytics events or account identifiers to Clarity.

Clarity may use first-party and third-party cookies and similar technologies to associate visits and interactions. Cookie use and available features depend on browser settings and applicable consent signals. You can manage or block cookies through your browser; typing practice does not depend on Clarity.

See the Microsoft Privacy Statement, Clarity data collection, cookie documentation, and content masking documentation for details about Microsoft's processing.

No accounts or advertising

This release does not offer user accounts or display advertisements. The local storage described above is used for preferences and recent results; analytics cookies are separate from that storage.

If you follow an external link, the destination website handles your visit under its own policies. Those sites may process data differently from Monkey Typing.
